At the Heritage Alliance, we strive not only to preserve the past, but also to educate the public about the unique role that past residents of Jonesborough, Washington County and the surrounding region have played in our story.

By stepping into a restored 1880's one-room school, taking a stroll down the streets of Tennessee's oldest town, or by holding a photo taken a hundred years ago, we believe that people can connect with the past in a real and meaningful way. The lessons learned by children and adults alike can be used to understand how people lived and why they made the decisions that shaped our nation. Through this understanding we hope to develop an informed citizenry that understands the impact that their own lives have on the modern nation.
