History Hunt
Students use research and map reading skills to explore the architectural, historical, and cultural history of Jonesborough. A great experience for middle to high school students, the program is completed in small, independent groups.
Students discover a wealth of information from Sanborn Fire Maps of Jonesborough dating back to 1888. Guided by a booklet of questions, students must use contextual as well as observational skills in order to complete the assignment.
This program is available year-round and requires students to dress for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes. Program length is dependent on the number of students. A single classroom can complete the program in one and one-half to two hours.
The History Hunt cost is $5.00 per student with no charge for accompanying adults.
Group size is limited by the number of adults you bring. Museum staff does not lead students through the town.
