History Happy Hour is returning to the Chester Inn State Historic Site and Museum for its 3rd year! Our first presenter this year is Casey Price, a graduate student who is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in East Tennessee State University’s history department. His presentation is titled “Women, Gender, and the Spatial Construction of Upper East Tennessee.” According to Mr. Price, “Evidence suggests that women heavily influenced Upper East Tennessee’s settlement and economic development patterns and, in doing so, helped determine the spatial outlay of early frontier Upper East Tennessee that proved remarkably resistant to state control.”

History Happy Hour takes place the third Thursday of the month at 6:30pm at the Chester Inn Museum.
