Historic Jonesborough Tour Schedule 2018 – Now with four tour options! Tours depart from the Chester Inn State Historic Site and Museum (116 West Main Street). Tours are $5.00 per person, children under the age of 8 are free of charge. Combo Tickets for $7.00 per person are available when you purchase a ticket for the Old Jonesborough Cemetery Tour and another tour option. Old Jonesborough Cemetery Tours are $3.00 per person.
Jonesborough Walking Tour – Learn about Main Street, Jonesborough, the buildings that stand, the people who built them, and the lives they forged in Jonesborough.
March – April – 1:00 p.m. on Sat
May – Sept – 1:00 p.m. on Fri & Sat and 7:00 p.m. on Thurs evening
Sept – October – 1:00 p.m. on Fri & Sat
November – December – 1:00 p.m. on Sat
Jonesborough Mythbusting Tour – Put your history detective skills to the test as you try to separate the myths from the facts in Tennessee’s Oldest Town!
March – 2:30 p.m. on the second Saturday
April – Dec – 1:00 p.m. on the first Sat of the month and 2:30 p.m. on the second sat of the month
This tour will also occur during special events, such as Jonesborough Days and the Storytelling Festival.
Old Jonesborough Cemetery Tour – Learn about Jonesborough’s historic cemeteries, burial customs, and the lives of the people buried there. Proceeds from the tour help preserve the historic cemeteries.
May 19 – October 6 – 2:30 p.m. on the first and third Saturdays of the month
Railroad History Tour – This tour travels along the backside of Main Street and shares the rich, history of the railroad in East Tennessee. The tour concludes at the Chuckey Depot Museum, located inside the 1906 Chuckey Train Depot.
