The provision of a wide range of innovative educational programs provides an important counterpoint to the preservation and care of records in our Archives and the collection of material culture in our Museum. Our award-winning programs tell the stories of place, of people, and of life through the centuries.
The Oak Hill School Heritage Education Program is a four to five hour program that allows schoolchildren to experience an 1892-1893 one room schoolhouse classroom. Ordinarily geared toward elementary age students and limited to 35 students at a time, this program can also be tailored for groups with other needs.
The Jonesborough Fieldtrip Experience is ideal for larger school groups. Students move through different stations throughout town and experience all that Jonesborough has to offer. This program truly highlights the multi-layered mission of the Heritage Alliance. This program is extremely flexible in range of activities. It is suitable for a variety of grades.
All programs must be scheduled with the Heritage Alliance at least 2 weeks in advance by calling 423-753-9580 or emailing education@heritageall.org.
