The Heritage Alliance has a Virtual Field Trip Day playlist designed to capture the experience of being on-site with us! This trip guides students throughout Tennessee’s Oldest Town. It features stops and activities at the Oak Hill Schoolhouse, a Jonesborough Town Tour Scavenger Hunt, Old Jonesborough Cemetery mini tour, a tour of the Chester Inn Museum’s bedroom, a tour of the Christopher Taylor House including the second floor, a reading of Virgie Goes to School with Us Boys by Elizabeth Fitzgerald Howard, a History Detective activity with artifacts in the Jonesborough/Washington County History Museum, a tour of the Chuckey Depot Museum, and special, bonus videos.
Navigate the tabs below to access different parts of the virtual field trip. You can also access the videos at the following links via the Chester Inn Museum State Historic Site and Museum’s YouTube page.
Our instructor packet is full of information and lesson questions to help instructors guide students through the virtual field trip. This is a great tool that allows teachers to plan how to use this resource to fit their schedule. Teachers can take the full field trip, or pick and choose what works best for you!
